Is a Boudoir shoot right for me?
Numerous times clients have expressed concerns on the way they feel about their body and if it is even a good fit for them to do these types of shoots. I always tell them, it is not whether it is the right fit, but rather how comfortable you can feel in front of the camera. Some of the concerns have been, "I need to lose some weight..." or "I don't know how to pose or even feel sexy..." I cannot explain the looks on my clients faces when they see the finished results of their photos. I have also gotten some personal thank you's from their significant others, thanking me for capturing their wives/ girlfriends in a different light.
What is a typical shoot like? What can I expect?
Your typical shoot will be in studio. My assistant Mai and myself will be in the studio helping you along the way. Mai will help with fixing hair in between, and help adjust you appropriately depending on what you are wearing. We will start with some closeups of the face, something to help "break the ice" if you are feeling nervous.
We then move into the rest of the more sensual posing, I usually have some music playing in the background, and ask you questions along the way to ensure you feel comfortable throughout the shoot. I pose clients accordingly to their body type accentuating the beautiful curves and favorite features in their body. I gotta say, the most uncomfortable poses, are always the ones that turn out the best! Any client of mine would agree. The atmosphere is relaxed, chatting and sharing some laughs along the way. It is an all around fun experience.
"Unless you're a model, doing a boudoir session where you're half naked in front of strangers is very uncomfortable. However my nerves were immediately calm when I entered Precious Depictions studio. Lorena and Mai's welcoming personalities made it easy to warm up and get comfortable. Both have an eye for photography and can articulate exactly how to pose, smile and channel your inner sexiness. Trust me your sexiness will show in the pics, you won't be disappointed".
There is no age to beauty. Whether you are 21 or 59 there is no "label". As I always say, feel comfortable in your own skin, and love yourself! As women we are our own worst critics, we will always find flaws when others don't notice them. I hope this little mini insight gives you an idea on what to expect, and if you have been pondering on it, ponder no more!
